KATIMA MULILO, 31 MAR – Oshana beat Hardap 19 -16 in their first match of The Namibian Newspaper Cup netball competition here Saturday.
The girls from Oshana dominated play from the first quarter as they showed great composure with their passes.
Hardap only managed to get their first goal in the dying minutes of that quarter. The score was 4-1.
As the match progressed, Hardap started recovering but Oshana showed great character as they kept maintaining their lead in the match, winning 9-7.
Oshana won the third quarter 13-11.
Hardap came charging in the dying minutes of the last quarter, but could not add to their score.
Oshana’s Liina Weyulu was voted player of the match.
In their next game, Oshana will face Oshikoto, who Hardap beat 29-28 on Friday.
