Windhoek, Nov 17 – The Brave Warriors suffered a 2-0 defeat to Guinea on Sunday evening in the 2021 African Cup of Nations Qualifier Group A match played in Conacky ,Guinea.
The two sides met after two contrasting results with Namibia winning their opening group match 2-1 at home against Chad and Guinea playing to a 2-2 draw at Mali mid-week.
Guinea needed to win and Namibia had to get a good result away from home and that made up for an interesting game in Conacky.
But the home side knew wha they had to to remain relevant in the Group after Mali earlier on defeated Chad 2-0 away from home.
Issiaga Sylla scored on 41 minutes to give the host the lead and it was three points in the bag for them on 70 minutes after a goal by Jose Kante.
Guinea now go top of the Group A followed by Mali both on four points with Namibia in their place on three points and Chad bottom of the table after two straight defeats.
For Bobby Samaria and his charges is to take the lessons and return home as he comes to lead the local based Brave Warriors in preparation for the upcoming 2020 African Nations Championship finals whose final draw, dates and venue are yet to be confirmed and communicated by CAF.
The 2021 AFCON qualifiers will resume later in 2020.
