Gibeon councillor lauds Hardap residents for cleaning up

REHOBOTH, 14 MAY – Gibeon Constituency Councillor, Jeremia van Neel has lauded inhabitants of the Hardap Region for their concerted efforts in cleaning the region as part of the ‘Road to Rehoboth’ and national clean-up campaigns.
Van Neel told Nampa upon enquiry on Monday that the national clean-up campaign initiated by President Hage Geingob and slated for 25 May has positives outcomes, as small settlements such as Kriess, Schlip and Klein Aub are also included in the campaign.
“Since day one of the campaign in Maltahöhe, I have witnessed the joint efforts by inhabitants of the region in trying to keep Hardap clean. I must also thank our president for coming up with such an initiative to promote cleanliness in the country,” Van Neel remarked.
He further said it is a good thing that Governor Esme Sophia Isaack, with the technical committee, decided to include all areas in the region, irrespective of size and location.
“With cleanliness, comes Godliness,” Van Neel noted.
The region’s main clean-up day will be in Rehoboth on 25 May to coincide with similar activities in the rest of the country.
The Hardap clean-up campaign kicked-off in Maltahöhe last Monday, followed by Gibeon on Wednesday and Kriess on Friday.
Over 200 people, including residents of Rehoboth, Mariental, Gibeon, Aranos, Stampriet and Klein Aub, were part of the Kriess clean-up.
It will continue in Gochas on Monday, Aranos on 15 May, Stampriet (17 May), Hoachanas (18 May), Klein-Aub (19 May), Mariental (21 May), Kalkrand on 23 May, ending with Rehoboth on 25 May.
