WINDHOEK, Jan. 28 – The due date for registration fees payment and tuition deposits at the University of Namibia (UNAM) has been extended from 02 February to 09 February 2018, while the registration for first year students was extended to 02 February 2018.
All students are allowed to commence the registration process prior to paying the N$2000 registration fees and the 50% tuition fees deposit, and this year, no late registration fees will be applicable for the 2018 registration.
“Aspiring students who still wish to apply to UNAM are advised to apply online from 29 January – 02 February 2018. The late application fee of N$300 will apply to applications submitted manually, (online application remains free of charge),” read a statement from Simon Namesho, UNAMs Public Relations/Marketing Officer.
He said that Online registration for senior students, that started on 23 January, is on until 02 February, and that First year
students that might not have completed their registration process on their respective Faculty-designated dates are welcome to approach their Faculty Officers between 29 January – 02 February 2018, at the different UNAM Campuses.
“All students are allowed to start the registration process. However, their registration status will remain in a pending status, until the compulsory minimum registration fees and the 50% tuition fees deposit are settled. Access to the student portal and printing of the proof of registration for registered students, that have made the required payment, will be available after registration.”
“Registration status for students that go through the registration process and have not yet made any registration fees payment and tuition fees deposits will remain pending until such payments are effected. If payments are not made by 09 February
2018, such a registration status will lapse and one will be required to re-register during the late registration period. An invoice, that includes the registration fees and total annual tuition fees, is provided at the end of the registration process for all students. Due date for the remaining balance after registration is 30 June 2018.”
Prospective students that may not be in possession of a printed admission letter, but their application status on the University website indicates provisionally admitted, are encouraged to come for registration between 29 January – 02 February 2018.
Also, prospective students that have applied and application status on the University website indicates declined (based on August 2017 school report), application incomplete or pending, and now have improved end year results, are encouraged to come during the late registration period, to inquire on available spaces on various Faculties.
Admission statuses for late applications will be communicated from 07 to 09 February 2018. Late registration is scheduled for 07 – 09 February 2018, at all UNAM Campuses and Regional Centres. – NDN Staffer
