WELLINGTON, June 6 — One person died and three were injured following a firearm-involved incident near Kawhia, New Zealand’s North Island, on Thursday.
Police were called to a rural address about 4:00 a.m. local time following a report of four people being found injured, Detective Inspector Graham Pitkethley said in a statement.
Initial investigations found they may have sustained injuries from a firearm, and three others are reported to be in a moderate condition, Pitkethley said, adding one person is assisting police with their enquiries, and police are working to understand better the circumstances.
