ONGWEDIVA, 17 AUG – Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Ohangwena Region, Warrant Officer Kaume Iitumba has called on women to not walk around alone at night to avoid falling victim to criminals.
Iitumba made the call in an interview with Nampa on Thursday, following the discovery of a woman’s body parts near the borderline between Namibia and Angola on 08 August.
Passers-by discovered the dismembered parts buried in two separate holes three kilometres into Angola.
“It was found in the east of Oshikango’s Santa Clara settlement,” Iitumba said, adding some parts of the body such as her one breast remains missing.
He said police investigations so far have determined that the woman was between 28 and 30 years old.
“Nobody has reported a missing person in the area up to now and as such, we are appealing to anybody with information that can help with the positive identification of the deceased to come forth in Namibia or Angola,” he said.
