Woman arrested with diamonds and elephant tusks granted bail

RUNDU, 04 DEC  – A 38-year-old woman who was arrested Saturday with 58 unpolished diamonds and two elephant tusks was granted bail of N$ 3 000 in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Elizabeth Mate Linyando made her first court appearance before Magistrate Adelheid Simbwaye.
Linyando’s case was postponed to 29 March 2019 for further investigation.
She was arrested by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Kavango East Region during its festive season patrol at the Shinyungwe village in the Ndiyona district.
The unpolished diamonds have been sent to the NamPol headquarters in Windhoek for their value to be determined of which the results will only be known after two weeks. – NAMPA
