KOES, FEB 8 – After a tip-off, police in Koes arrested a man on Saturday while he was on his way from the location to town, supposedly to smuggle cannabis into Koes Police Station. A police report alleges that “…information regarding the 38 year old Namibian suspect was for smuggling cannabis into Koes Police Station for an inmate. The Police searched the suspect who was on his way to town from the location and he was found to be in possession of three (3) bankies of cannabis (skunk) an the value was not yet determined.”
The incident occurred at about 18h00. The suspect was due to appear at Keetmanshoop Magistrate court on 7 February (Monday.)
In Rehoboth, a 31 Namibian male was found in possession of a plantation of pure cannabis with a supposed total value of N$8 900.
“It is alleged that during a Police search the 31 years old arrested Namibian male was found in possession of plantation of pure cannabis with a total of N$ 8900.00. Police investigation continues.”
He was discovered on Friday at around 14h15, erf no: 2 block B Rehoboth.
Elsewhere, in Omaruru five Namibian male suspects ranging from ages of 17 to 23 years were arrested after they were found in possession of 26 ballies of cannabis, 9 full and 1 half mandrax tablet/s during a Police stop and Search. The suspects were expected to appear before Omaruru Magistrate Court on Monday. The incident occurred last Friday in Omaruru location Sonskyn. – info@namibiadailynews.info
