OTJIWARONGO, MARCH 29 – Otjiwarongo-based Sion Parish have taken it upon themselves to feed people at a dumping site.
During an interview the Church Pastor, Pastor John /Guidao-oab indicated that this was the second time they were feeding the people.
“We started last year and are planning on making it a yearly event.”
Present at the event was Namibian artist Kalux.
“I am overwhelmed to see that there are actually people thinking about the others who are forgotten,” adding that the life the recipients were living was not new to him since he was also once part of that group.
“I will take part every year and I am also planning on contributing towards the initiative in future”
The people at the dumping site said that they were happy that there are actually people thinking about them, and that they are thankful for the food, drinks and the clothing they got.
The pastors wife closed off the gathering by saying she was grateful towards the people who contributed to the event by giving clothes and also to the whole Sion Parish for the support throughout.
