WINDHOEK, 13 DEC – A 13-year-old boy reportedly committed suicide on Wednesday afternoon by hanging himself at his mother’s residence.
The incident, according to Head of Community Policing of the Namibian Police Force, Chief Inspector Christina van-Dumen da Fonsech, happened at the Havana informal settlement on the outskirts of Windhoek.
She told Nampa the deceased has been identified as Benjamen Shatumbu.
It is alleged that the deceased was scolded by his mother over missing money in their home.
Shatumbu was supposed to travel to the north for the holiday, the police officer added.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
The incident follows the suicide of another 13-year-old boy in Katutura last month. – NAMPA
