RUNDU, 17 APR – A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death in Windhoek Sunday night after he was suspected of stealing N$600.
A crime report availed to Nampa on Tuesday by the Namibian Police Force said Frans Shoopala was stabbed in the chest around midnight in Katutura.
“It is alleged that the suspect stabbed Shoopala because he stole N$600 that belonged to the suspect’s sister,” the report said.
The suspect, a 23-year-old man, was arrested after he turned himself in to the police.
Shoopala died upon arrival at the Katutura State Hospital.
Police investigations continue.
In a separate matter, a 50-year-old man died in Otjomuise after being stabbed in the chest at the corner of Beijing and Kitchen streets on Sunday.
The suspect allegedly confronted the deceased and demanded to know why he was walking near his house, after which they started fighting and the man was stabbed.
The deceased has been identified as Roy Richard Rose.
“His next of kin were notified,” the report said.
The suspect, who is known to the police, has not been arrested yet and police investigations continue.
The police also reported that four men broke into a shebeen on Monday around midnight.
They allegedly fired warning shots to scare off the complainant before breaking two jackpot machines and a jukebox and taking an undisclosed amount of money.
No one was injured during the robbery.
The report said one of the suspects turned himself in at the Wanaheda Police Station, while the other three are still at large.
