Walvis Bay, Aug. 29 — Five Walvis Bay road runners participating in the Ultimate Human Race that kicked off early on Sunday morning (28 August 2022) in South Africa started their race in good spirits.
Kudos to Werner Bachmann, Michelle von Stein, Eliza Steyl, Kobus van Schalkwyk and Sonja Oates!
The five athletes joined other Comrades Marathon runners from all over the world to showcase the true spirit of The Ultimate Human Race.
The Comrades Marathon is an ultramarathon of approximately 89 kilometres which is run annually in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa between the cities of Durban and Pietermaritzburg. It is the world’s largest and oldest ultramarathon race.
Comrades Marathon was run for the first time on 24 May 1921 and has been run every year since.
