WINDHOEK, 30 APR – Four men allegedly held a security guard at gunpoint at an automatic teller machine in the Eros area of the capital at 03h30 on Monday morning, before breaking into the machine’s storage room.
According to the Namibian Police Force (NamPol’s) crime report issued on Monday, the suspects noticed other security guards on patrol from the nearby buildings and fled the scene.
No money was stolen and no arrests have been made.
In a separate incident on Monday, a 39-year-old man was also held at gunpoint and robbed of his vehicle and other belongings in the Okuryangava informal settlement at around 03h30.
The vehicle was later recovered.
NamPol in the Kunene Region on Sunday reported that a 28-year-old man was admitted in the Opuwo District Hospital with three wounds on the lower part of his left leg.
According to the crime report, the man who is in a critical condition, claimed to have been stabbed with a knife at a bar.
The suspect in the matter is unknown and police investigations continue.
