RUNDU, June 30 , A Swapo party member of the National Council and Councillor of Rundu Rural East Constituency Michael Shikongo who was arrested yesterday for assaulting a 63 – year – old pensioner has been granted N$ 3000 bail this morning and his case was postponed to 18 October 2020.
The councillor is accused of assaulting a pensioner woman Likakatere at Tjeye village in Mashare constituency of Kavango East according to court charge sheet.
In an unusual move the accused councillor was accompanied to court by Kavango East Governor Bonifatius WaKudomo and Swapo Party regional coordinator Mushinga Shinduvi who also ordered media team not take pictures of the accused councillor.
