KEETMANSHOOP, 08 MAY – A 30-year-old man accused of murdering his brother at Tses in the //Kharas Region on Friday, made his first appearance in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate’s Court on Monday, where he was denied bail.
The accused, Medusalem Baisako appeared before Magistrate Melissa Mungunda, who denied the granting of bail. She said police investigations were still at an early and sensitive stage and that the State fears the accused person might interfere with the State witnesses, who are his relatives.
Baisako allegedly stabbed his brother, Josef Baisako (32), on the neck with a knife after an argument over a cigarette ensued between the two brothers.
Mungunda postponed the case to 28 June 2018 for further investigations and for the accused to apply for legal aid.
The State was represented by Ndina Kaitungwa.
The accused remains in custody at the Namibian Police Force holding cells at Keetmanshoop until his next court appearance.
