Outjo Football Academy leading Kunene Second Division

REHOBOTH, 09 JUL  – With six games remaining, log leaders Outjo Football Academy are on track to win the Kunene Second Division after collecting four points over the weekend in their Round 15 and 16 matches.
The Outjo-based outfit defeated Young Eagles 5-2 on Saturday before being held to a goalless draw on Sunday by Etosha United in matches played at the Etoshapoort Stadium.
Confirming the results, vice chairperson of the league, Bensley Hanaseb on Monday told Nampa the other teams are working hard to catch up with the log leaders.
“All the teams want to beat the log leaders and usually bring their A-game to the matches. This increases competition and raises the quality of the matches in the league,” Hanaseb said.
In other matches played in Round 15 on Saturday, Etosha United hammered home team Green Dangers 5-2 at the Kamanjab Combined School Stadium, while Bethlehem Boys fell short at home against Opuwo’s Kunene Namibian Police (NamPol) in a 5-2 hammering at the Etoshapoort Stadium in Outjo.
Revengers from Kamanjab did not show up for their match against PUBS at the same stadium, with the home team taking points and awarded goals in the walkover.
In Khorixas at the Herbert Conradie Stadium, Robber Chanties lost 3-1 against visiting Black Africa Warriors, while at the same venue Gariseb Orlando Pirates used their home ground advantage and defeated Sixty Eleven from Outjo 3-0.
On Sunday in a Round 16 match at Etoshapoort Stadium, Bethlehem had a walkover against Revengers who did not pitch up for a second successive game, while PUBS defeated Kunene NamPol 3-0.
In Khorixas, Gariseb Orlando Pirates defeated Black Africa Warriors 3-0 to collect six points for the weekend, while neighbours Robber Chanties won 1-0 against Sixty Eleven.
In Kamanjab, Green Dangers lost 3-2 against Young Eagles.
Revengers will be expelled from the league if they fail to pitch up for one more game.
Outjo Football Academy lead the log with 40 points, followed by PUBS in second spot on 30 points.
Third and fourth place are occupied by Young Eagles on 28 points and Gariseb Orlando Pirates with a point adrift.
Etosha United in fifth place are tied on 27 points with Kunene NamPol in sixth, with the former having scored one goal more.
Black Africa Warriors are in seventh spot with 24 points, followed by Bethlehem Boys in eighth spot on 21 points, Green Dangers in ninth with 12 points and Sixty Eleven in 10th spot with 11 points.
Robber Chanties are tied on 10 points with 12th-placed Revengers, with the latter having an inferior goal difference.
