REHOBOTH, 09 JUL – Khomas Second Division outfit, Eleven Champions are the league and cup double champions after winning 1-0 against Swallows Football Academy in the League Cup final played at Khomasdal Stadium on Sunday.
Eleven Champions won the league championship last week and ended the season in style by adding the league cup to their trophy cabinet.
They won their first game 3-0 on penalties after a goalless draw against City Boys, while Swallows defeated Falcon 2-0 in their first match.
They then went on to defeat Afrika Rassap 3-2 on penalties after a 2-all stalemate, with Swallows winning 1-0 against Rock Stones.
In the final Eleven Champions came out tops by winning 1-0 after extra time.
Chairperson of the Khomas Second Division, Dawid Morgan said the tournament was played in a very good spirit and thanked the teams for their good conduct.
“Well done to all the teams for a great tournament. Congratulations to the winners and hard luck for those that could not make it,” he said.
Shidolo Moses of Eleven Champions won the Player of the Tournament award, while the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award went to Brenden Kandji from the same team.
The Top Goal Scorer award was scooped by Dawid Haitembu of Golden Rivers who scored three goals.
Eleven Champions received N.dollars 5 000 as winners, while the losing finalist, Swallows walked away with N.dollars 3 000.
Rock Stones and Afrika Rassap both received N.dollars 1 000 each as semi-final losers.
