WINDHOEK, Apr. 4 – President Hage Geingob has appointed Honourable Martin Andjaba as Minister of Presidential Affairs.
A statement from the Namibian Presidency issued earlier today read, “By virtue of the powers vested in the President by Article 32(3)(i)(dd) of the Constitution of the Republic of Namibia, His Excellency, President Hage G. Geingob appoints with immediate effect Hon. Martin Andjaba as Minister of Presidential Affairs.”
Prior to his appointment, Andjaba was a Namibian Ambassador to the United States of America and was recalled earlier this year to become a Member of Parliament.
During Namibia’s two-year tenure on the United Nations Security Council, Andjaba served as President of the Security Council in August 1999 and October 2000.
