Oshakati, Oct. 24 – Individual Swapo candidates should be given an opportunity to present their ideas and market themselves to convince congress delegates that they are the best candidates for the positions they are vying for.
This was said by Swapo regional coordinator for Oshikoto, Armas Amukwiyu, who wants to take over Sophia Shaningwa’s job as secretary general of the party.
He was speaking at the 7th engagement meeting between the candidates vying for the top three positions of party vice president, secretary general and deputy secretary general and Oshikoto delegates that was held on Saturday,22/10/2022) at Omuthiya fire bridge hall in Oshikoto Region.
He said delegates are provided with a special opportunity to make their own judgment and take informed decisions on the best candidates.
Amukwiyu urged all rival candidates as well as CC candidates to strictly adhere to the rules of engagement as approved by the central committee to preserve unity in the party.
He appealed to congress delegates not to be lured into factions that would undermine the current and future life of the party.
