WINDHOEK, July 14 – Windhoek City Police Service is appealing to members of the public who might have lost cellphones in the Havana and Goreangab areas to come and identify a few that the force has.
This follows the arrest of seven youths who are suspected to have been engaged in snatching cellphones from unsuspecting members of the public in the Havana informal settlement of Katutura at around 13h00 0n Thursday.
According to a statement issued by the Windhoek City Police, the seven suspects, whose ages range from 26 to 23 were found with five cellphones which they allegedly confessed to having stolen from members of the public in Havana and Goreangab areas.
“With these cellphones recovered, we call upon members of the public who might have fallen victim to these suspects and can recognize their phone to come forward with proof of ownership to claim their phone back,” said the police statement.
