OTJIWARONGO, 22 MAR – A one-year-old boy drowned in a pool of rainwater at Plot Otjitazu no. 2 situated along the Otjiwarongo-Outjo road on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Jayden Giovanni Muinjo.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha on Thursday told Nampa the incident occurred between 09h00 and 11h00.
She said preliminary investigations indicate that the Muinjo was left in the care of his two minor brothers while their mother was asleep in the house.
When the woman woke up, the toddler was nowhere to be seen.
“She started searching and found his body floating in a pool of rainwater,” said Mbeha.
No foul play is suspected and police investigations continue.
