WINDHOEK, 10 APR – Former Rundu Chiefs Chairperson Festus ‘JPS’ Nangolo passed away in Rundu on Tuesday.
Nangolo’s death was announced by the Rundu Chiefs Executive Committee.
The football club’s Public Relations Officer, Thomas Shapi told Nampa on Tuesday Nangolo collapsed at work and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
“It is indeed a great loss not only to his family, but also to the Rundu Chiefs family in particular and the entire football family in general. Nangolo’s contribution to Rundu Chiefs is immeasurable,” Shapi said.
Nangolo resigned from his position as chairperson of the club on 25 December 2017 due to work and family commitments.
Shapi said despite resigning, the former chairperson still drove to Otjiwarongo on Saturday to support the club in one of their crucial away matches, which they lost to Mighty Gunners.
