WINDHOEK, 15 Aug – The Namibia Rugby Union (NRU) has unveiled a 23-man squad to face Kenya in the make-or-break Rugby Africa Gold Cup tournament match at the Hage Geingob Stadium on Saturday.
According to a media statement availed to Nampa, the Namibian technical team has gone for the tried and tested playing personnel with Captain Johan Deysel leading the team.
Namibia currently tops the Rugby Africa Gold Cup, which also doubles as the 2019 World Cup qualifier with 20 points.
Kenya is second on the log with 17 points with the winner of match qualifying for 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
Namibia needs to win the match to guarantee themselves a sixth consecutive world cup appearance.
“The boys have prepared well so far and are really looking forward to the challenge of Kenya,” head coach Phil Davis was quoted as saying in the NRU statement.
He also called on the Namibian public to come out in Numbers and support the team.
