REHOBOTH, 21 MAY – The North East Stream First Division (NESFD) is nearing completion of the first leg after Round 3 and 4 were played over the weekend.
League chairperson Mpasi Haingura on Sunday confirmed the results and said the league is getting tougher in each pool.
“Games went well, no reports received of any incident yet. The race for the league title is already heating up considering the limited number of games to be played in each pool,” Haingura said.
He said the week of 26 and 27 May 2018 will see the end of the first leg.
“So far the games went well and no hiccups reported. The discipline being displayed by our clubs is exceptional and clubs are encouraged to maintain the professionalism shown so far,” Haingura remarked.
In Pool A on Sunday, United Star lost 2-0 against Black Hawks in a Round 4 match played in Rundu, while Eastern Chiefs defeated Bingo United 1-0 at the same venue.
Pool B saw Julinho Sporting defeat Benfica 1-0 in Tsumeb at the Oscar Norich Stadium, with Cuca Tops taking the scalp of Young Rangers after winning 5-2 in Tsumeb.
