WINDHOEK, 13 AUG – A 38-year-old man died instantly and three others were injured in an accident on the C14 gravel road, 85 kilometres towards Walvis Bay from Windhoek on Friday.
A crime report issued by the Namibian Police on Monday indicated that it is alleged that the driver (25) of a Nissan station wagon lost control over the vehicle and it overturned.
Three other occupants, including the driver, sustained serious injuries and were taken to a hospital in Walvis Bay.
The incident happened between 12:00 and 13:00.
The next of kin of the deceased were informed and police investigations continue.
A one-year-old girl died on the spot in an accident on the Windhoek-Gobabis road on Saturday at around 07h00.
It is alleged that the driver (27) of a Toyota corolla with four adults and two babies were on their way from Windhoek to Gobabis when the front left tyre burst causing the driver to lost control of the car and overturned.
The girl is identified as Ester Angula.
The remaining five accident victims were injured and taken to the Gobabis State Hospital.
In Windhoek, a 34-year-old Namibian male allegedly committed suicide in Dan Street, Shandumbala.
Although NamPol did not specify as to when the incident happened, Petrus Tuhafeni Swartbooi’s body was found hanging from the kitchen ceiling with an electric cable around his neck by his partner when he returned home from work.
No suicide note was left behind.
The police also reported that a 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with the rape of a woman in Ndama at Rundu Friday night.
It is alleged that the suspect, the woman’s nephew, entered the complainant’s room while she was asleep and had sexual intercourse with her, without her consent.
The suspect has been arrested and police investigation continue. – NAMPA
