Oshakati, 28 Nov. – Police in Oshakati arrested a 39-year-old man after he allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl at Onawa location in Oshakati, at about 20h00 on Saturday 26 November 2022.
According to police spokesperson Inspector Thomas Aiyambo, the suspect come to the victim’s house where he found her alone and made a proposition to her, but when she refused he allegedly raped her in her mother’s sleeping room. He then allegedly promised to give the girl N$20 to buy her silence.
The alleged rape was reported to the police by the girl’s father. The suspect is a married man from the same Onawa location. He is due to appear court on Tuesday of 29 November 2022.
