Rufaro Chataika
WINDHOEK, MAR 5 – Three daring suspects made their way to Easy Talk Bar in Ondangwa last Friday, where they managed to make off with an unspecified amount of cash and cellphone recharge vouchers, according to a weekend crime report issued by Nampol yesterday. The suspects also relieved the security guard on duty of his service pistol during the process.
According to the report: “It is alleged that three unknown male suspects arrived at the Bar, pushed the security guard who is employed by Wakaali Security Company into the bar, attacked him and grabbed off his service pistol. It is further alleged that one of the suspects held the bar lady at gunpoint and fired a shot before he demanded money from the bar lady.”
The suspects managed to take cash and cellphone recharge vouchers with an unknown amount, and no arrests and recoveries had been made at the time of the report although police investigations were underway. The incident occurred at around 00h00 said the report.
In an unrelated incident that occurred on Saturday 2 March at around 00h00 at Ekwao Bar, Omatando location, Ongwediva, a 46 year old male was assaulted by two known male suspects with a plastic chair on his head and sustained serious injuries.
