Henties mayor’s court case sees another postponement

SWAKOPMUND, 13 OCT  – The trial of Henties Bay Mayor, Herman /Honeb, arrested in connection with stolen meat last year, was on Wednesday postponed to 28 November 2018, after the accused appeared in the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court.
The case, which commenced last year, was presided over and postponed by Relief Magistrate Kandi Nangombe to allow for further investigations to take place.
/Honeb, 55, was arrested in June last year in connection with suspected stolen meat. The mayor was charged with accepting and/or buying and transporting a full cow carcass worth N.dollars 8 000 without legal documents.
The accused was represented by lawyer Shakespeare Masiza and is still out on the N.dollars 4 000 bail, which was granted to him in June last year after his arrest.
/Honeb was sworn in as the town’s mayor in December 2015.
