Hardap governor calls for cooperation

KEETMANSHOOP, 15 APR  – Hardap Governor Esme Isaack urged leaders to forget personal vendettas and work together, as people in her region need hope and guidance.
Speaking at the launch of the regional council’s five-year strategic plan in Mariental on Thursday, Isaack said all leaders must navigate the plan successfully after thoroughly abiding by the objectives, and these objective should be specific, measurable, achievable and timeline associated.
“Let us collectively redouble our efforts to deliver; let us collectively strive to leave a legacy as torchbearers and pacesetters of our future generation,” she appealed.
The governor said no leader of any given ministry, agency, organisation, local authority, division or society can operate in isolation, so they must join hands to bring the strategic plan into action.
She said that if a leader goes out front, looks back and see no followers, he or she is not leading.
“I am convinced to lead; it is not a walk in the park but to take followers through the desert. So, let us pull from front and push behind; we are destined to lead the Hardap Region to the next level,” Isaack said.
The strategic plan for 2018/19-2022/23 strives to improve regional infrastructure, improve the socio-economic situation, ensure good governance, and improve organisational performance.
