Accident near Oranjemund claims one life

KEETMANSHOOP, 29 OCT – A 27-year-old man died when the vehicle he was travelling in overturned near Oranjemund on Saturday.
The Namibian Police Force’s crime investigation coordinator for //Kharas, Deputy Commissioner Chrispin Mubebo told Nampa on Sunday the accident occurred around 14h45, approximately 10 kilometres outside Oranjemund.
“It took place at the airport T-junction between the town and the sea view point. The driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, leading to the accident,” Mubebo said.
The deceased has been identified as David Utoni from Rosh Pinah. His next of kin have been informed and investigations continue.
“Utoni was declared dead at the Rosh Pinah Hospital where he was rushed to after the accident,” he said.
The driver of the vehicle was seriously injured and taken to Windhoek for treatment, while two other passengers sustained slight injuries.
