WINDHOEK, MAR 4 – The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) arrested 60 people on drug-trafficking related charges during the month of February alone.
This was revealed by the NamPol during a press statement issued on Monday.
The drugs include Cannabis worth over N$ 12 million, Cannabis Plants worth over N$ 30 000, 434 Mandrax tablets worth more than N$ 520 000, Cocaine Powder worth N$ 17 500, Crack Cocaine valued at over N$ 22 000 and Abortion tablets valued at N$ 4 218.
The confiscated drugs are all worth N$ 12 968 248.
Those arrested, include 56 Namibians, one Mozambican and three Swazi nationals.
The Namibian Police urged youth to refrain from using drugs.
“Drugs are very destructive especially to the youth of Namibia.”
