KEETMANSHOOP, 12 JUN – A 36-year-old woman is to appear in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday on charges of arson and assault.
The woman is alleged to have started the fire at Seeheim Hotel near Keetmanshoop on Sunday.
The Namibian Police Force’s //Kharas Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Chrispin Mubebo told Nampa on Monday multiple parts of the 18-room property were damaged.
“The suspect, who is a former employee of the complainant, fled after setting the hotel on fire but she has since been apprehended,” he said.
The value of the damage to the hotel is estimated at between N$10 million to N$15 million, said Mubebo.
