WINDHOEK, MAR 6 – THE Namibian Police (NamPol) has launched a manhunt for four inmates that escaped from the Omega Police Station holding cells in the Kavango East Region on Friday.
This was revealed in a crime report issued by Namibian Police Force spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi on Tuesday. The report states that the inmates escaped by climbing through a corridor window.
Two of the escapees, who are Batswana, were detained for poaching, while the other two, Angolan nationals were arrested for rape.
So far no arrests have been made and the search for the four men continues.
The Namibian Police is requesting the public to assist in tracing the four men and anyone with information that can led to the arrest of the four escapees is requested to report them to the nearest police station.
