Swakopmund, Aug. 16 – Two men caught on camera wearing hoody jackets broke into an Exclusive Lederwaeen Shop (Ostrich leather shop) at the Arcate in Swakopmund town centre on Monday morning around 03h27 and stole items valued at N$480 000.
This was confirmed by Erongo police who said before the theft, the shop’s G4S security alarm went off on the shop owner’s phone. He then allegedly contacted G4S, who responded within 15 minutes.
On arrival at the complainant’s shop, the G4S security details found the place in a scattered mess.
According to the Erongo Police, they broke the main door open, gained entry and removed various ostrich belts, buffalo belts, ostrich leg belts, ostrich handbags, ostrich lay handbags, and ostrich wallets.
All the items allegedly have a big letter “V” as the brand name.
The two suspects allegedly jumped into an unidentified silver seven-seater getaway car and drove off.
