KEETMANSHOOP, Aug. 16 — The need for driving school lessons in Keetmanshoop has risen up drastically as more jobs make it mandatory for applicants to have a driver’s licence.
Namibia Daily News spoke to some of the driving school instructors and they all confirmed the demand in driving schools had risen compared to five years ago.
“Competition for clients is tough so your marketing should be good and you should also up your game as an instructor because people come to driving schools they heard about from peers or the great experience one had at your school can make them refer you to others,” an instructor commented.
With more jobs requiring driving licences, more people tend to go for the automatic license which is easier to obtain.
“Some instructors also offer learners licence classes that makes it more profitable for their schools,” another instructor added.
“A lot of people choose automatic lessons because the world is moving towards automatic cars but as an instructor, I would advise my clients to take manual lessons because it’s beneficial for them.
“With an automatic licence you cannot drive a manual car but with the manual you are not restricted, some companies only have manual cars so if you get a job that only has manual cars you are forced to go back to get a manual licence that’s why it’s better to just take the manual lesson once,” he added.
Every employee with a licence makes it easier and convenient for companies to use them in times of emergencies, he said.
