GROOTFONTEIN, 27 JUL – Two men appeared in the Grootfontein Magistrate’s Court on Thursday on a charge of stock theft after 38 sheep were stolen from a farm in the Otjozondjupa Region’s Otjituuo area Monday.
The suspects were denied bail and the case was postponed to 05 October 2018.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region, Warrant Officer Maureen Mbeha on Friday said three suspects were involved in the incident, but so far only Tjipetekera Kuzatu, 38, and Rudolf Kaukumangera, 25, have been arrested.
The third suspect is still on the run.
The two men were arrested at Omatako village in Tsumkwe West on Tuesday.
Mbeha said 15 of the 38 sheep were recovered and have since been handed over to the owner.
Police investigations in the matter continue.
