KABUL, July 26 — Personnel of counter-narcotics police in the fight against illicit drugs have unearthed a drug-processing lab and arrested three individuals in eastern Afghanistan’s Laghman province, said a statement of the provincial police office on Sunday.
Acting on a tip-off, the counter-narcotics police raided a place in Qarghayi district on Saturday. In addition to the discovery of a drug-processing lab, they also seized a huge quantity of illegal objects used in manufacturing illicit drugs from the site of the operations, the statement said.
Police also took into custody three persons on charges of involvement in the black business, the statement said.
Police also reported the seizure of 403 kg of opium in the northern Takhar province and arrested two persons a couple of days ago. (Namibia Daily News/Xinhua)
