REHOBOTH, 04 JUL – Four men accused of attempted murder for beating and stabbing a man here in April this year, made their fifth appearance before the Rehoboth Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
Their case was postponed to 05 July for the fixing of a trial date.
Wilfred Africa, Daniel Mouton, Nelson Dausab and Debra Kondo appeared before Magistrate Andre Matulich, who postponed the case to Thursday.
It is alleged that they assaulted a man with planks and stabbed him with a knife in Rehoboth’s Block G residential area on 16 April.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Windhoek Central Hospital for treatment.
The four accused were represented by Winnie Christiaans on private instructions.
Public Prosecutor Victor Mutumbulwa, who appeared for the State, said the contents of the docket have been disclosed to Christiaans.
“The investigations are done now. We have done disclosure today to the legal representative of the four accused,” Mutumbulwa said.
The accused made their first appearance in the Rehoboth Magistrate’s Court on 18 April this year, when they were denied bail, after which the case was postponed to 08 May. However their legal representative was unavailable on the day. On 23 May, the quartet made another appearance before the magistrate’s court, when they were granted bail of N.dollars 2 000 each, which was extended until their next court appearance on Thursday.
