REHOBOTH, 28 MAR – The Omaheke Region’s netball team’s preparations for The Namibian Newspaper Cup are going well, head coach Constancia Katjimune said.
The tournament, which will include netball for the first time, will take place at Katima Mulilo from 30 March until 02 April.
Speaking to Nampa in a telephonic interview on Wednesday, Katjimune said they have been working hard on preparing for the tournament.
“We played against some teams in Gobabis and we are busy with a light practice session as we speak. Judging by our training, I think we will be the first team to win the netball category,” she said.
The technical team, selected last Monday, also includes Monica Hausiku as assistant coach, Erika Hanse as head of delegation and Anita Toromba as team manager.
The players are Tjeripo Kambirongo, Veta Merero, Ueripaka Hambuindja, Nguundja Kahimise, Mesututjike Hange, Jessica Kazombiaze, Venjanderako Mbaha, Vakamuina Hianavita, Ngunondjo Kauari, Opangura Kozosi, Vezemburuka Rungondo and Seuakouje Merero.
