Oshakati, September 13, 2023 – The Oshakati Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into a case of death by hanging. On Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at an unspecified time, the lifeless body of an unidentified male was discovered in the Omumbu area, near the Namwater tower, within the Oshana region.
Inspector Thomas Aiyambo reported that the lifeless body of an unknown male was found hanging from a tree in Omumbu. The deceased is believed to be aged between 25 and 35 years, standing approximately 1.7 meters tall. He was found wearing a red and white sports shirt with the word “Diadora” written on it, along with tight blue tracksuit trousers featuring white stripes on the sides. Notably, a lock key was secured to his tracksuit at waist level.
At this stage, the next of kin has not been identified, as the deceased remains unknown.
The body has been transported to the Oshakati Mortuary, where it will undergo further examination. The public and the community are urged to visit the Oshakati Police Mortuary to assist in identifying the body or provide any relevant information that may aid in the identification process.
