WINDHOEK, 03 DEC – A 21-year-old man’s alleged suicide attempt was botched after the wire he used to hang himself from a tree broke on Saturday. According to a weekly crime report, the man who hails from Aranos in the Hardap Region was taken to the Aranos State Hospital where he is receiving treatment and is said to be in a stable condition.
In another incident in the Hardap Region, the decomposed body of Immanuel Gariseb was discovered hanging from a tree at Gibeon on Saturday.
Gariseb was last seen around 12h00 on Friday.
No suicide note was left behind and no foul play is suspected. The deceased’s next of kin have been informed.
The police also reported that a Dundee Precious Metals employee, Petrus Helonga, 52, allegedly shot himself with his private pistol in the Soweto residential area in Windhoek.
The incident occurred around 07h00 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Henock Nakale, 20, was shot by an unknown suspect along the Monte Christo Road near the Hakahana informal settlement in Windhoek around 00h30 on Friday.
Nakale was walking with his friends when a bullet struck him in his right leg.
He was admitted to the Katutura Intermediate Hospital and is in a stable condition.
No arrests have been made and police investigations into the matter continue. – NAMPA
