KEETMANSHOOP, 03 JUL – A 38-year-old woman died after she was allegedly stabbed by her boyfriend at Karasburg in the early hours of Sunday.
Namibian Police Force //Kharas Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Chrispin Mubebo told Nampa on Tuesday the deceased has been identified as Francis van Rhyn.
It is alleged that an argument erupted between the two at a bar in the Westerkim residential area, after which the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the neck. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she died hours later.
“The cause of the argument is unknown,” Mubebo said.
The 33-year-old suspect fled the scene and was apprehended later while he was checking on his girlfriend at the hospital.
The deceased’s next of kin have been informed.
