OSHAKATI, 31 May 2022 – Employees of KFC at Etango in Oshakati were robbed at gunpoint and one of them was assaulted by two men on Monday at around 07h30.
According to Inspector Thomas Aiyambo, the two victims aged 28 and 33 were preparing for the day’s activities when they were attacked by the robbers. Two unknown men reportedly entered KFC and went to the office where the two employees, a male, and a female, were. One of the suspects pulled out a black pistol from his waist and aimed at the two victims.
He said one of the suspects then pointed the gun at the male employee’s forehead and demanded to be given money while threatening to kill the employee. The male employee told him that they don’t have the safe keys. The suspects then kicked him.
Although the robbers did not manage to steal money from the company, they got away with two black Samsung A10 cellphones belonging to KFC and one Huawei p40, as well as N$200 that was in a cellphone pouch.
The stolen items are valued at N$10 200.
Inspector Aiyambo said the suspects made a getaway in a white sedan and no arrests have been made so far. A case of robbery with aggravating circumstances is being investigated. – Namibia Daily News
