Eleven Champions FC on course for league title

REHOBOTH, 11 JUN – Eleven Champions Football Club (FC) collected six points in the Khomas Second Division to end the weekend on top of the log after rounds 20 and 21 of matches were played.
All the matches were played in Windhoek.
Eleven Champions scored eight goals in the two games they played against City Boys whom they beat 2-0 on Saturday and 6-0 against Kingston United on Sunday. Shidolo Moses scored three of the goals and Peresterero Delton four, while the other goal was scored by Mike Snyders.
Team coach Adelino Julio Baptista said on Sunday they stick to playing basic football.
“We keep things simple and play responsibly. We will keep on working hard now that we are on top of the log and aim not to lose focus. We will take each game as it comes,” Baptista said.
In other matches on Sunday, Rock Stones defeated City Boys 4-0, while Afrika Rassap and Young Ones drew 3-all, with Swallows Football Academy defeating Java Java 1-0.
Elsewhere, Namib Eagles was in seventh heaven after hammering Impala Chiefs 7-1, while Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) FC were back to their winning ways in a 2-0 victory over bottom of the log Falcon FC.
Eleven Champions are top with 48 points after 21 matches, followed by NUST FC in second with 47 points and Afrika Rassap third with 45 points.
Swallows are in fourth with 44 points and Kingston United completing the top five with 36 points.
Languishing on the bottom are Java Java in 11th place with 15 points and Namib Colts in 12th with 10 points. Impala Chiefs are in 13th spot, also on 10 points with a minus 34 goal difference leaving Falcon dwelling in the basement on 10 points with a minus 38 goal difference.
