CAIRO, Jan. 22 -- Egyptian Ministry of Interior on Wednesday announced the aborting of a scheme to destabilize the country on the anniversary of the Jan. 25 uprising. "The scheme, drawn by seven members of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood in Turkey, targeted luring and preparing youth to carry out riots and sabotage state facilities during the ceremonies of the 2011 revolt that toppled former President Hosni Mubarak," the ministry said in a statement. Several members of the Hasm movement, Brotherhood affiliates, were arrested for spreading lies on the social media to provoke the people against the government, it added. The forces seized, during raids on the terrorists' houses, a drone, 20 automatic weapons, 12 multi-task pistols, RPG, explosive devices and materials used for making bombs and masks, the statement added. The Egyptian authorities tightened the security measures across the country's public areas ahead of the ninth anniversary of the Jan. 25 uprising that also commemorate the country's Police Day.
