ISLAMABAD, Nov. 5 — At least one person was killed and three others injured after the roof of a shop collapsed in Pakistan’s southern Sindh province on Thursday, rescue officials said.
The incident occurred near the New Nazimabad Flyover in Karachi, the provincial capital, during ongoing construction work at the shop, said Abid Shaikh, chief operating officer of Rescue 1122.
Shaikh said rescue teams had recovered three people from the debris and shifted them to hospital, while more people were feared trapped beneath the rubble.
Search and rescue operations are underway to locate and rescue any remaining victims, Shaikh said. (Namibia Daily News/Xinhua)
