REHOBOTH, 11 JUN – Dates Eleven Football Club are well on course to win the ||Kharas Second Division Inland Stream after collecting three points on Saturday and tightening their grip on the first position on the log.
Dates Eleven, or Dadels as they are also known, defeated Brazilie 3-0 on Saturday with goals from Merril Jossop, Victor Pienaar and Edward Rooi.
Dates Eleven coach, Andries Wimmerth on Monday told Nampa they are working hard in order to maintain their form and finish the campaign on top of the log.
“Our focus now is the away game against Tornado on Saturday in Karasburg and at home against King Pele Santos on Sunday. Our aim is to collect six points and cement our position at the top of the log,” Wimmerth noted.
Dates Eleven are on 27 points from 10 games played and only need 12 points from the remaining eight games to be crowned Inland champions.
League Administrator of the ||Kharas Second Division, Collin Motinga on Monday confirmed the results.
“We are well on track to finish on time with the league and conclude the play-off between the Coastal and Inland Stream immediately once we are done. This will afford the winning team more time to prepare for the Southern Stream First Division promotion play-offs,” he said.
In other matches played on Saturday, Young Beauties defeated Tornados 3-2 in Keetmanshoop at the J. Stephanus Stadium, while at the same venue, King Pele Santos beat Noordoewer-based Orange Rangers 2-0 at the Noordoewer Stadium.
Elsewhere, Lovely Super Stars defeated another Noordoewer-based team, Spiders 1-0.
On Sunday Spiders defeated King Pele Santos 2-0, while Lovely Super Stars hammered Orange Rangers 5-0.
In the Keetmanshoop derby on Sunday at the J. Stephanus Stadium, Real Fighters did a double over Brazilie after defeating them 3-1 at J. Stephanus Stadium.
