Mariental, Oct. 20 – The office of the governor of Hardap region handed over food which included 24 tins of fish, six boxes of horse mackerel, 10 maize meal bags and 200 apples to Mururob primary school for their feeding programme.
The food items were handed over to the school by the governor’s personal assistant Herculus Jantze on behalf of governor Salomon April.
The governor, who recently launched the governor’s kitchen, also provided meals for residents at Ombili informal area of Mariental.
According to the governor’s office, the pop-up kitchen is one of the office’s social programme initiatives.
The project which follows the concept of a ghost kitchen also known as a pop-up kitchen aims to feed the destitute in the Hardap region through random soup kitchens for communities.
The office plans to host the pop-up kitchen once a month.
