JENIN, West Bank, Mar.1 — Two Palestinian men were killed early on Tuesday by Israeli soldiers during clashes in the Palestinian refugee camp of Jenin in the northern West Bank, medics and eyewitnesses said.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the West Bank said in a short statement that Abdullah al-Husari, 23, and Khaled Nejjem, 18, were killed by Israeli soldiers, and four other Palestinians were injured.
Palestinian eyewitnesses said that an Israeli army special force stormed the refugee camp as part of the Israeli military campaigns that it carries out every day against Palestinian towns and villages in the West Bank.
The eyewitnesses said that Israeli soldiers raided the hospital of Iben Sina and arrested a Palestinian, who was shot and wounded by Israeli soldiers during the clashes that broke out in the area.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) announced that al-Husari is one of its militants, and Israeli army snipers killed him in the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank.
An Israeli army spokesman said that an Israeli army force entered the Jenin refugee camp to arrest one of the PIJ militants, adding that gunmen in the area opened fire at the Israeli soldiers, who fired back at the fire’s sources, according to Israeli media. – XINHUA
