Oshakati, Aug. 22 — Police in Ongwediva are investigating the death of a 23-year-old Namibian student at HP Unam Campus, Ongwediva who was found dead in Namusheshe street, Hanover, Ongwediva on Saturday morning at around 07h00.
According to Inspector Thomas Aiyambo, it is alleged that on Saturday 20/08/2022 at about 07h00, the man was found dead in the street by a passer-by who then informed the police. One of the bystanders at the scene identified the deceased as his schoolmate at HP Unam Campus.
The alleged schoolmate stated that at around 21h45 the deceased called him to say he had lost his house keys at New Reception where they were drinking with friends but did not identify the friends. He apparently said he was scared to wake up his aunt to the door for him.
The student then just hung up the phone just to be found dead in the street.
According to the deceased aunt, the man left the house on Friday 19/08/2022 at around 07h00 telling her he was going to school and never came back.
His next of kin has been informed of his death.
